TravelCheck works without an account and without ad tracking. You choose a destination and answer a few questions about your trip. The app uses this to create an analysis with typical risks and practical tips.

We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or precise location. This Privacy Policy explains in plain language which data is processed for the app to work.

2. Data you enter

When you create an analysis, the app sends the information needed for that analysis to our server:

• Destination and, if available, country or region of the requested analysis, for example "Barcelona, Spain" or "Malta".
• Travel profile: for example travel type, budget, season, arrival, language skills, focus, number/ages of children, or group size. Not every question is relevant for every trip.
• Device language setting, so the analysis can be returned in the right language.

This information normally does not include direct contact details or your precise location. You should still avoid entering names, phone numbers, or other personal details into free-text fields.

3. How we use this data

We use this information only to create your travel analysis, return the result to the app, detect errors, and protect the service from abuse.

Data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS. Server logs contain technical request information and are retained for up to 7 days. After that, they are automatically deleted.

4. What we do not do

• We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or address.
• We do not access your GPS location.
• We do not use an advertising identifier or ad tracking.
• We do not access contacts, photos, calendar, or microphone.
• We do not sell your data or share it for advertising. For usage and error analysis without a name or account link, see section 9.

5. Data on your device and in iCloud

• Analysis results, warnings, and notes are stored on your device.
• Purchase history for analysis credit packages is stored locally so the app can show your purchases correctly.
• Bookmarks, custom titles, app settings.

If iCloud sync is enabled, Apple syncs this data through your private iCloud area. We do not have direct access to your iCloud account or your private iCloud database.

6. Purchases

Analysis credit purchases are processed by Apple. We do not receive payment details such as credit card numbers. Apple provides the app only with the information needed to confirm a purchase and add analysis credits. Apple's privacy policy also applies to payment processing.

7. Protection against abuse

We use an Apple security feature so our server can check whether requests really come from the app. This helps protect the service from automated abuse. This check is not intended to personally identify you.

8. AI processing

To create the analysis, the app sends your request to our own server. Your destination and travel profile are transmitted, not your name, contact details, or precise location.

9. Usage and error analysis

To improve the app and fix problems, we collect a small amount of usage and diagnostic data without a name or account link: for example which features are used, technical events, masked interaction flows, and crash or error information. This is processed by an analytics service provider that handles the data on our behalf on servers in the EU.

This data is not linked to your name or an account (the app works without one) and is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a stable, improved app (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

10. Your rights

Where personal data is processed, the GDPR gives you rights including access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, and objection. Because the app works without an account, we often cannot link a request to a specific person. Still, you can contact us at any time with privacy questions: reisewarnungen@icloud.com.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data-protection supervisory authority.

11. Changes

We may update this policy when features, service providers, or legal requirements change. Material changes will be communicated before an app update.
